What do you think about auction horses?

i use to work for my aunt's business with auction horses. we would go to auctions pick up like 3or 4 horses for 200 each bring them back to health and train them with a sport then sell them for like 1,000 i would get 400 dollars for training the horse. i have seen a lot spending my younger days at these auctions. i have seem a horse in the slaughter section (means he went threw the aution 2 times and no one got him so now he is going to Canada to be killed for meat) i was only 10 and i cried my eyes out telling my aunt to buy him nope he had a crippled leg and no one would buy him i told her i would buy him still nope. he was a pretty red roan and was a jumper. anyways i have seen some messed up stuff with horses at auctions. i have trained horses that were more messed up in the head then my aunt . would you buy a horse from an auction? all the horses i have owned were from auction.
